Welcome to the Peppard Revels website.
The organising committee are proud to announce the next major event in the series of Peppard Revels. The theme will be the Peppard fun 'Olympics' and also celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The event will take place over three days, from 2-4 June 2012:
Saturday 2nd June
The Peppard fun Olympics will be held on the top Common and will be for teams of four or five comprising adults and children. There will be eight games including:
• Commando net water relay
• Rowing machine event
• Golf ball throwing
• Balance beam crossing with frying pan
• Ping pong ball blowing on mini obstacle course
• Penalty shots
Points will awarded to each team for each game and the teams with the most points at the end will receive prizes. Numbers will be limited - 16 teams will take part in the morning and another 16 in the afternoon.
They will be allocated the names of individual countries.
Entry forms are available from Suzanne Skelton:
telephone 01491-629931 email Suze_wil@yahoo.com
An opening ceremony will be performed by pupils from Peppard Primary School.
There will be a lunch barbecue provided by Ruchetta in Peppard and a fully licensed bar.
Followed by a free children's film ('Kung fu panda') after tea and 'Chariot's of Fire' (£5 entry fee), which will start at 7.30pm.
Sunday 3rd June
The Community Church Service will be held in the Marquee at 11:30am when the Bishop of Dorchester will be present.
After that there will be family lunch for everyone with a barbecue and bar provided.
Families will be encouraged to bring their own salads and it is hoped we will be able to watch the Queen going down the Thames on the Royal Barge ahead of a flotilla of other boats.
Monday 4th June
The Diamond Jubilee Dinner will be held in the marquee at tables of ten.
For this special occasion the catering will be provided by The Crooked Billet in Stoke Row and wine from Laithwaites.
There will be a band and fireworks and the Peppard beacon (which has been registered for the occasion with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Beacons) will be lit.
It is hoped to be able to watch the Queen lighting the main beacon at around 10:30 pm.
Because the demand for dinner tickets was oversubscribed last time and many people were disappointed there will be priority booking for residents of Rotherfield Peppard and Sonning Common and their guests for one month from 1st February.
Tickets will go on general release on the 1st March.
Tickets priced £65 for this special event are available from Geoff Pitcher:
